Legal Automation & Case
Intelligence System

Overview
I have built a prototype version of this system that is ready for demonstration and is currently being evaluated by legal professionals in both Germany and the United States. The goal is to provide a structured, scalable way to handle complex legal matters involving large volumes of material, while fitting into existing workflows.
The system supports both individual and batch ingestion of files, including audio, video, images, scanned documents, emails, and standard case files. All content is processed and converted into structured text using locally executed OCR, ensuring accuracy and maintaining control over sensitive data at the source.
The processed material is then analyzed in the context of the case. The system identifies key facts, timelines, relationships, and relevant statements across all file types, creating a coherent and structured understanding rather than leaving information fragmented. It evaluates and scores each element against the core case description, surfacing the most relevant evidence, potential arguments, counterarguments, and inconsistencies.
While the current prototype does not yet include a full anonymization layer, several viable approaches have already been identified and are being evaluated together with legal professionals to ensure a secure, compliant, and practical implementation.
Client-Facing Functionality
On the client side, the system focuses on structuring and clarifying a case before or alongside legal engagement. Users can upload large volumes of mixed materials, which are automatically processed and organized into a clear narrative. The system highlights key facts, identifies potential arguments and counterarguments, and helps users understand the strengths and weaknesses of their position.
In addition, the system can recommend suitable lawyers based on the nature, complexity, and characteristics of the case. It can integrate with platforms such as Avvo, Fiverr, and similar marketplaces, creating a direct connection between analyzed cases and relevant legal professionals. Over time, this enables the system to generate its own demand layer, effectively evolving into a marketplace where lawyers are incentivized to participate in order to be recommended for qualified, pre-structured cases.
Lawyer-Facing Functionality
On the lawyer side, the system is designed to handle high-volume, complex datasets and reduce the time spent on manual review and research. It processes extensive materials such as depositions, document sets, and multimedia evidence, extracting and structuring key information across sources. All findings are evaluated against the case strategy, with relevant arguments, counterarguments, and inconsistencies clearly surfaced.
The system also connects to legal databases such as CourtListener and other sources to identify comparable cases, relevant rulings, and supporting precedent, aligning them directly with the matter at hand. This enables faster, more targeted legal research and strengthens case preparation.
Applicability Across Legal Areas
The system is particularly valuable in environments with high data volume, time pressure, or limited resources, including:
- βPublic defenders, managing high case loads with limited time per case.
- βLegal aid organizations, often operating under resource constraints against well-funded opposition.
- βLitigation attorneys, working with large volumes of documents, depositions, and hours of audio/video evidence.
- βPatent and trademark attorneys, handling extensive and detail-heavy documentation.
- βUSPTO and related research workflows, including potential extensions into U.S. and international patent databases, where large-scale analysis can be performed with lower data sensitivity.
Core Benefit
Instead of manually reviewing fragmented materials, both clients and lawyers receive a structured, prioritized, and actionable view of the case. The system reduces time spent on intake, review, and research, while improving clarity, alignment, and decision-making across all stages of the legal process.
